The Diving Victoria Dive School is geared towards divers ages 7-16.

 

Please NOTE: Our Saturday option has been canceled for Term 1.  Both Monday and Thursday Beginner classes are now full.  Please email whitney@divingvictoria.com.au for the possibility of a Tuesday beginner (4:30-5:15) and Intermediate (5:20-6:20 class.  Tuesday WILL open if there is enough interest.

 

Pre-Registration for 2020 enrolled divers: 23 Dec - 10 Jan

Open Registration begins Monday 11 January

• Registration is On-line only
• Registration may be made for 1 diver at a time ONLY
• Registration is for the whole of the term
• Divers must become members of Diving Victoria or RENEW their membership as a "Dive School Diver" $32  one time annual fee (expires 30 June) - under MEMBERSHIP  **MEMBERSHIP FEES REDUCED DUE TO COVID - Now $15
• Login details WILL NOT be recognised until the membership has been renewed
• Earlybird pricing for those that register and pay by 17 January Must enter discount code: T1Early
• Pro-rata available after the third week that the class meets
• Expression of Interests for Tuesday Beginner and Tuesday Intermediate.  Classes will be opened with sufficient interest

• Classes will only run with a minimum of 4 entrants

Changes for Term 1

• MSAC Entry fees are now INCLUDED in the price of the Term.  Venue entry procedures will be communicated in mid-January
• COVID Safe procedures are in place.  Refer to the Diving Victoria website for our current COVID Safe Plan
• No Tuesday, Friday or Sunday classes will be offered in Term 1

Please email whitney@divingvictoria.com.au if the class you would like to enroll in is full. Additional classes may be an option if there is sufficient demand. This will also be dependent upon pool and coach availability.

Come N Try: We have no scheduled Come n Try days for Term 1.  Please call the DV Office (9686 7534 or 0411 863 483)  for possible options.

 

All classes

 

• Bring bathers with warm-up clothes (T-shirt and shorts), towel and drink bottle
• Parents are encouraged to leave their children. If not, they must stay well clear of all class activities and coaches while they are working with the children. Parents must stay in the spectator seating and are not allowed past the barriers near the dive boards

Ongoing Options 

On successful completion of the term, divers will be able to continue improving their skills in Diving Victoria programs, however once they reach a certain level (to be determined by their coach) it is expected they will be introduced to a club to continue their training and further develop their skills. As a majority of our communication to you is via email, it is vital that you enter a valid email address in the section provided, and that you check it regularly.

Important Notes

 

Missed Lessons

If a student misses a lesson due to illness they will be able to request a make-up lesson ONLY on presentation of a medical certificate. This will be subject to availability of classes and therefore may be offered as a credit towards a future term or holiday program.  If Diving Victoria has to cancel a lesson, you will be able to request a refund, credit or make-up lesson.  If a lesson is missed due to holidays, school camp or any other commitments, no make up lesson will be available. 

 

Class Changes

If you wish to change a class day, time or level part way through the term you may discuss this with your coach, however any final changes must be made through the Diving Victoria office, preferably via email (whitney@divingvictoria.com.au) so we can keep an accurate record of class numbers and so that you can be added to the correct mailing list. 

 

Entry into MSAC - Entry fees are now INCLUDED in the Term Fees

Evaluations

Divers will advance by achieving 3 stars on all skills in each Level (1-7). Certificates will be awarded upon completion of each level. Skills learned at each level - click here.

 

Competitions (Term 1)

Pennant Week #5 (Sat20 March @ AQUANATION - Ringwood

Pennant is a competition series suited to all levels of divers and aims to provide them with competition experience and the opportunity to monitor their progress throughout the season, which runs from July-June.  There are usually six pennants held over this time period and this is the Week 5 for season 2020/21

Each pennant consists of levels 1-10 plus open competition, and each level has different requirements.  Students will need to check with their coach for the appropriate level to enter and the dives they will need to perform.  Entries will close on the Sunday prior to the competition.

The pennant criteria (i.e. levels and dive requirements) can be found on the Diving Victoria website under EVENTS.
